Woom woom woom woom

For the past few months, we've been trying to spy on the baby using a stethoscope, but we couldn't find the heartbeat. Now that he is bigger and I know how he is laying, we can put it on his back and hear his heartbeat. It's really cute!
In other news, my doctor today said that I'm still gaining too much weight (less carbs, less sugar, more veggies, more water, boo!!!) and that I still need to walk between 1-2 hours a day. Hopefully this nice weather sticks around and I won't walk around the mall too much :)

Baby Shower gifts :)

Yesterday my coworkers threw me a shower - it was great! Lots of cupcakes and snacks and baby talk. I also got this awesome gift basket full of fun baby things (silver spoon, cute bib with a little tie on it, blanket, tshirts, rattles). Everything is ready for baby! Only a few more weeks to go. I did my one hour of walking at the mall last night since it was raining and managed not to buy too much because I only let myself spend giftcards :)
For a few weeks there, I wasn't really all that hungry, just the normal amount-- but its coming back now. I had a good 4 bowls of Cinnamon Toast Crunch today. Baby loves cinnamon!

Walking...

I'm walking around a good ole high school track while Dillon plays flag football. Remember the days when we had to run the mile?

Almost got busted again!!

I'm telling you this baby is a cop magnet. I pulled into the coffeeshop parking lot and a vienna officer pulled right up and parked himself pointing right at me. Me and my illegal no front plate MINI. Should I stay in the car? Go in the shop? I made a run for it and got my decaf latte with coupon haha, then came back out and he was on his cell. Phew.
Let me just say in my defense, its not just that mommy drives around in cars with illegal tags (or lack of legal tags) - this one is actually related to baby! We took off the cool tow-hook front plate holder we had and sold it because we thought we were selling the MINI for baby. We're not gonna sell anymore (at least for awhile) so I guess I should put that plate back on...

Maternity Pictures

I had a coupon (go figure) for a free 8x10 so I decided to try out the photo store that is inside BabiesRUs. They were really nice and spent a lot of time with me :) Here are some of the pictures that we took!

Meanwhile, my aunt in TX has gone into labor and my friend at work had her baby a few weeks ago. I'm next!! How exciting. I really just want to eat donuts and drink coffee though. I substituted some tea and a small pack of animal crackers instead...

Clarification

I just noticed that I didnt explain the picture from this morning. Its a SPECIAL order of Mama Zuma chips (those super spicy ones from the first trimester) and Beamer is checking it out. They are so yummy, but baby kinda rolls around when I eat them. I'm pretty sure he gets a taste of the spicyness, but its not bad for him...
Its also very odd because my belly is low. When I'm sitting down, he's resting on my leg. Its almost like holding him in my lap, haha. Keep dropping baby!!

Week 36

I've made it! Not quite :) 4 more weeks until the due date but if I went into labor now they consider the baby grown enough and wouldn't stop the labor. This past week was eventful and slow at the same time. My doctor had me rush to MD because she felt the baby's heartbeat was too fast (170bpm) and I got hooked up to a monitoring machine that printed heartrate like a seismegraph- those things they measure earthquakes with...20 mins later they decided he was just really healthy and active and his baseline heartbeat is 155.
Other than that, my dr said I have to walk an hour a day, non-stop, for two more weeks, then two hrs a day! Anyone want to join me?

Good morning!!

Well, its about 4am and baby and I are up having some chocolate and milk. Im wide awake! My mind started thinking about chores and things I needed to do so I just got up and wrote them down. Baby was kicking around so much yesterday that I called the dr to make sure it was ok. He moved for about an hour straight, which is actually really tiring for a litle baby! Just one kick sends their heartbeats up so I can't imagine how much exercising he was doing squirming for an hour. The dr said that he was probably just trying to get comfy...haha good luck baby!
Speaking of comfort, a lot of the swelling has subsided. I could probably put my ring back on if I wanted...and in other news, I got some new glasses (you can't labor in contacts apparently and I am really blind) but the prescription is wrong and very uncomfortable! Let me write that down on the to do list..Visit the eye doctor...

Feelin Preggy

As I mentioned, baby dropped some this wkd and I'm starting to swell. Its weird to have swollen feet! They look like yours, just all puffy and it hurts a little. Its hard for me to sit down and rest because I like to be doing things, but alas, Im getting a little tired in the afternoons and I need to start listening to my body. I also pulled out a different ring for my left hand after I struggled to get my wedding band n engagement ring off. I got 8 and a half months wear out of it, not bad! And, everyone has that one ring in their jewelry box that's too big for them- so it came in handy.
Otherwise, I'm still rocking the maternity clothes ('secret belly band' stuff from Motherhood is awesomely comfy!) and I'm told I have a waddle :)

Beautiful are the feet that bring good news

Well, mom and I went to a ladies church retreat this weekend and I think the salty camp food made me swell up. Or perhaps its the fact that the baby dropped down some in the past few days, making it a little awkward to walk and perhaps making circulation more difficult. Its becoming more evident and slightly uncomfortable to be preggy, but I still feel good! 6 more weeks to go :) For now, i'll just put up my feet and watch the hokies!

Stroller Woes, over!

We've been going back and forth on whether or not to fix the stroller our neighbor gave us, or get a new one. Luckily, we didn't have to do either! The one our neighbor gave us is stylish (heehee BIG BRIGHT primary colors) but has a busted wheel. Much like that grocery cart at the store that always steers to the left. Unfortunately, its an italian company and we couldn't easiliy find a replacement wheel. The stroller was nice though, because later on, it can have one kid standing on the back and one inside, and it works with the infant seat.
Well, I found a small, more portable model (9lbs) of that brand on craigslist yesterday and Mom picked it up in Maryland! $45 instead of $179 for a new one. Phew. AND-- it fits in the trunk of the MINI. Yay!
You'd also be surprized at how much information there is out there for consumers. There's even a video on how to use and fold our stroller!

Walkin to the store

The rain kept everyone at home alllll day and it has just let up. Baby and I are going to the store to get some milk to make japanese cream stew! My good friend taught me how to make it :) hopefully I don't find too many extra things and snacks to buy because I'll have to carry them back! These new size LARGE maternity shorts are helping too. I've grown out of all the cute small and medium clothes...

Week 33

I think I decided on the diaper pail issue. I got a real nice step stainless steel trash can with odor control bags and little baby powder scented bags for each diaper and we plan to change it often. If that doesn't work, I can always go get a diaper genie or diaper champ. I kinda like the idea of the step on can, especially since we have one in the kitchen.
It's so rainy out, maybe we'll just stay in a do chores today!

Updates

Sorry I've been so slow on posting. Baby Bussert's got the hiccups right now, so it reminded me to post. It's about the 5th of 6th time its happened! Practice breathing baby!

Yesterday I had a mini-dilemma and thought that my water might have broken. Dad took me to the doctors office and after some probing and microscope analysis, I wasn't leaking amniotic fluid...all was normal. Mom and I were kinda bummed because we want the baby to come soon :) He needs at least 3 or 4 more weeks to fully develop his lungs and such though, so I can wait!

Meanwhile, I'm debating over diaper pails and baby slings...
