The Snackers

Commonly referred to ask snacks, these items are 'snackers' in the Bussert house. Every morning I pack up my little lunch bag and then I eat it all before lunch :)
Apple, pear, dried fruit, trail mix with chocolate and peanut butter pieces, strawberries, pita chips, prenatal vitamin (bleck) and granola bar. I can really only convince myself to eat healthy in the morning.. The afternoons usually include some sugar or fries!!

Week 28

I think one of the cats has caught on. He likes snuggling with me and tries not to step on my belly. We'll see how he reacts to crying!

Cold Stone

Oh man. I just had a Chocolate Cake Batter milkshake at Cold Stone. Highly recommend it! Its like drinking the batter before pouring it in the oven!!! Baby loves it.

Its all in a day's work

Things are going well- the belly is noticeable now. A lady on the elevator looked at me and said "How are you guys doin?" heehee. I find that somehow, I magically wake up 5 minutes before 7am everyday. Which isn't bad at all! I'm sleeping pretty well, as long as I don't take a nap in the afternoon.

My hunger patterns are pretty predictable too. I eat pretty much constantly from the time I get up until lunch. Today, I had cereal, an iron pill, some cinnamon sugar pita chips, an apple, some cheeze curls, some chinese black bean cake (thanks mom!) and then my peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Oh and that blasted pre-natal vitamin.

My cube neighbor had hot sauce with his home fries this morning. That has me determined to eat chicken wings tonight :)

This weekend- we amazingly have no plans! Tonight we are going to finish up the baby registry at Babies R Us (ps we have tons of newborn clothes already!) and then tomorrow, maybe paint the baby's room!! I found some pretty awesome wall decorations on super clearance the other day. I'll post pictures when they are up! The baby's room is going to be transportation themed - cars, planes, trains. Mostly nice cars :)

And, for some reason I couldn't sleep last night. Is my baby producing caffiene!? I was just wide awake until 1:30am when I feel asleep to reruns of Conan. Maybe I'll pass out tonight...

Mini Van Stickers

So, I'm sure you've all seen the cute little family stickers on the backs on minivans where people name their kids and pets. I found them online! Might be cute on the back of the MINI.

I looked through some samples. This one is by far the best. Read carefully.

Chicken Liver!!

Last month, my blood tests said I am a little anemic, so I need more iron. My old school chinese OBGYN suggested the yummiest supplements: Spinach, Chicken and Calf liver. Mmmm!

I decided to go with some pill supplements that she suggested and spinach. But, I was out at a japanese hibachi steakhouse and chicken liver was on the appetizer list. I figured the restaurant would be my best chance at getting tasty liver, so I went for it. My friend from work was brave enough to try some too.

It wasn't all that bad if you can trick your mind into thinking you are eating beef. It was like reallly reallly soft beef, kinda just desenigrated in my mouth. I think the baby liked it...although I don't plan to eat it again!

I read last night that I could eat lean beef, iron fortified cereals, broccoli and other pleasant things for anemia. Why couldn't she have suggested those?!

Active lil bugger

Seems like some new moms say their little babies were really active in the womb between 8-11pm at night. My little guy is awake all the time! Especially when I'm at work and driving. He also wakes up when I lie down to go to bed. Something about being on my back!

His little kicks are sometimes so fast and short that they tickle and I bust out laughing. I've been able to control it in client meetings though. Most of his kicks are on my sides and doctor said that means he's still traverse or laying horizontal across my abdomen. Maybe that's why I look square. I guess later on he will turn down!

My only other constant is the nose bleeds...I get them about 4 times a week, mostly at night. Its not so bad, just kind of annoying! I had to start taking iron supplements too since my bloodwork showed me a little anemic. The baby has started to make his own blood and is stealing all the iron!

I kinda wish he could hear the music I listen to in my headphones. It would be cool if we shared that too. Surround sound belly, 360 degrees of music :)

Baby plus MINI

Its a tight fit, but I think it will work. We'll probably take a trip to the fire station to make sure we installed it right :)

Lego Baby

Other updates...we are back on east coast time, but our jetlag was pretty vicious. We kept staying up until 1am but had early morning meetings for work. And we both kinda feel stuffy from the change in weather. We miss Cali air!

Supposedly my belly is as big as a soccer ball now and Baby Bussert is practicing his kicks everyday. Sometimes you can see my whole belly shake but I haven't seen a little foot pop out or anything.
I definitely had to wear maternity pants and shirt to work today...

Visiting LA

Hey Everyone--- We are in LA for the 4th! Its so beautiful here and our gracious hosts (Judy and Calvin and baby Trinity, Dillon's cousin's) are showing us the sites. We'll probably hit Legoland today, but I hear its pretty preggy-friendly, so that's good.

Here's a picture of me and baby Trinity! She is about 4 months old and is a real sweetie :)

Dresses are Bestest

Here we are out to dinner for Eric's birthday. Soon, we'll have to get a babysitter in order to go out late! Thought you might enjoy the profile picture of my little 6 month baby bump :) These days, I much prefer to wear shirts and dresses, any maybe some of those big waisted maternity pants...everything else feels so restrictive! I come home and fuss at Dillon, "I'm never going to wear pants again!" He thinks its kind of odd....
