Furniture

We put together a baby changing table tonight that someone from church gave to us. Weare clearing out one ofour guest bedrooms to be the baby's room. We have a rocking chair from my parents that is probably as old as I am. Next up is a baby crib!

Week 14

Its been a fast week and a slow week. I feel like the first trimester went very slowly, but now that I can't fit any of my suit pants anymore, I feel like its farther along! I've been taking measures to extend the life of my existing clothes like safety pins for pants that can't button and longer shirts, but I don't know how much longer that will last!

I haven't really gained weight yet though, its just repositioning. I'm still waiting to feel the baby kick...maybe a few more weeks from now.

In the meantime, I might get one of these to help with the clothes situation...think it will make me hot like this model?

4:30

New wake up time: 4:30! You must be saying- does she have the baby? Does it cry for feeding in the middle of the night? Yes! From inside my belly. Yesterday I woke up at this time, ate some biscotti and milk and watched two episodes of Full House. Then I proceeded to CRY when a little boy from Stephs school told Steph in secret that his dad beats him. Go ahead, you can laugh. It was very sad!
Today, I conveniently dreamnt of strawberries right at 4:29 and had some downstairs so I ate those and some cream puffs.
At times like this, I'm starting to wish I lived with my grandparents...they wake up around 3 and there could TOTALLY be bacon and eggs waiting for me at 4:30. Hmm.
Ah well, at least I'm getting to experience things like hearing the newspaper boy and seeing the trashman and the sunrise :)

AMAZING!

So, the whole baby thing is starting to hit me. A few days ago, I was just getting a little chubby, but everything was normal. I walk around, talk to the same people, wear the same clothes, do the same things. Until today!

I went for my first trimester screening (to see if there are any possible growth defects) and everything went really well. Still waiting on blood test, but the doctor wasnt concerned at all.

The amazing part was seeing the little body! Last sonogram was just a little blob with a heartbeat and this time - arms, legs, spine, head, heart! How can you not be in awe of God growing something like that?

HIGH FIVE lefty style! (like momma) Dillon said thats good for baseball :)

Random Thought

I'm blogging from bed because I can't fall asleep yet but I was justing about the timing of the baby...
1. We'll have a little one before my next birthday, dils next birthday and in time for thanksgiving and christmas. Who would have guessed last year at the holidays?
2. Next year, we will have a new deduction on our taxes!
3. God's timing is awesome. I guess He has it all figured out.

Traveling and the such

It's pretty amazing, I think I might actually have MORE energy than before I got pregnant. Dillon's been traveling (last week to NJ, this week to Vegas) and this weekend we had a lot of chores to do. We worked in the yard, cleaned the house and went shopping. Then, after I dropped him off at the airport I cleaned the whole kitchen!

It kinda sucks to be alone while he travels, but we have some plans of our own coming up. We're going to visit some friends (missionaries) in Japan and will also go to California a few times this summer. The Carolinas are on the list too :)

For all you people who say there's no belly, here's the pic for this week, Week 13:

I swear, I'm not pushing my belly out!
All this transformation makes me feel like a mutant...maybe like an x-men.

Baby Honeymoon

12 weeks along, officially today! That means I'm out of the first trimester and a lot of those typical early symptoms have gone away. I'm hungry and not too tired and generally feel pretty normal. They say the second trimester is the honeymoon period because you aren't too sick and you aren't so big its hard to walk/sleep. We plan on capitalizing on this time with a few trips (LA, Japan...)

Did I mention the tiny baby bump?

in case you didn't know, that used to be washboard abs (haha!)

Sonogram (finally)

Well, I'm in week 11 and I feel like I've entered into the 2nd trimester. I'm not really nauseated and I'm actually more hungry. I have a tiny pooch (we'll start taking pictures next week maybe)! The only negative thing is that I've gotten real bad heartburn at night after dinner. Doesn't matter what I eat or when! I think I just need to eat less even though my stomach is saying MORE! MORE!

Above is the sonogram from week 7. It was just a little gummi bear then, but now its over 2 inches!
